Chicagoland Anti-war and Anti-racism
Event Calendars

There are a number of groups that publish lists of upcoming events for the Chicagoland area. Although there is considerable overlap, they do differ in the events they list. Here are the ones I have found:

• The Chicago Calendar of Anti-War/Anti-Racist Events in response to September 11 attacks in the United States says it is updated and distributed weekly. and Chicago Events - No More Victims says it is updated and distributed twice weekly. They both say: "To submit a listing, or to be added to or removed from this list, please send a request to lseverns@afsc.org. This calendar is compiled by the American Friends Service Committee as a community service. Events listed do not necessarily reflect official endorsement by AFSC." Their content is identical although the formats differ slightly.
• Chicago Anti War Coalition Events and The Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism calendar are produced by The Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism and are identical.
• Chicago Area Peace Activities is produced by Chicagoans Against War on Iraq, a group of ordinary citizens from many walks of life and policial persuasions who have come together to voice our opposition to the war and to the Administration's reckless, anti-democratic and aggressive policies.
• The Chicago/Independent Media Center Event Calendar is created and maintained by a collective of independent media organizations and journalists offering grassroots non-corporate coverage of global and local justice campaigns, activism, and progressive, anti-authoritarian issues.
• The CHICAGO AREA EVENTS CALENDAR is sponsored by: New World Resource Center, a Non-Profit Bookstore and Meeting Center; 2600 West Fullerton, Chicago IL USA 60647; (773) 227 4011; (773) 489-5942 fax.
