"Secrets of the CIA"
This hour-long documentary made for TBS television features interviews with former USA intelligence agents and film clips of significant incidents. The several male and female agents, now retired from their CIA &/or FBI roles, review some of the covert operations in which they were involved. This is an opportunity to get insiders’ views of how US intelligence operations have been conducted -- sometimes (allegedly) involving the hiring of forgers, the contamination of food, disappearances and murder (e.g. of Che Guevara), undermining local governments and even overthrowing them (such as Guatemala’s "pro-Communist" leadership). During the discussion following we can explore the implications of all this and other realities -- that CIA budgets are unknown and aggressive intelligence activities tend to be kept secret, even from the US Senate and Congress.
